Shumaisi Street Coffee
Shumaisi is one of the earliest neighborhoods to emerge after the demolition of Riyadh’s old city wall. Its main street once served as an important artery for traffic, shopping, and the early development of major restaurants.
The neighborhood was originally made up of a collection of farms and was named Shumaisi after the Al-Shammasah family, who owned some of the largest farming areas in the southern part of the city.
Shumaisi marked an important transformation for Riyadh’s residents, as it represented a shift from traditional mud-brick homes to the modern architecture of its time. Although it later became one of the city’s older neighborhoods following rapid urban expansion, it continues to preserve its historic character through its closely connected homes and the traditional names of its streets.
Shumaisi Street Coffee is suitable for both pour-over and espresso, with delightful tasting notes of raspberry and black grape.
